48 Hour Opt-Out Retained

News from Brussels: the UK will retain its right to permit workers to opt out of the 48 hour working week. The European Parliament and Council announced on 28 April that as no agreement could be reached between member states on proposed revisions to the Working Time Directive, it will remain in force in its current form. The opt-out will therefore remain in place for the foreseeable future.
